1. A regular cleaning routine limits the build-up of dirt and grime, and ensures each session is less intensive.

2. Specialised cleaning equipment ensures staff are able to clean effectively and in hard-to-reach spaces.

3. High-quality cleaning products should be used, especially to remove mould and limescale.

4. Compact and well-stocked cleaning trolleys.

5. Well trained cleaning staff.

6. Well lit washroom facilities.

7. Suitable fixtures and fittings, including easy-to-clean surfaces; easy-to-access and -refill dispensers; and easy-to-empty waste containers.
