The 3Rs in Green Cleaning

Cleaning solutions should minimise negative environmental impact, while getting the job done. Green cleaning products which are effective and cost-efficient, are the go-to in this regard.
REDUCE
Pollutants: The use of bio-enzyme and eco-friendly cleaning agents eliminates the need for toxic cleaning chemicals. In addition to their toxicity, many man-made chemical cleaners contain microplastics added as abrasives, thickeners, binders, or gloss enhancers. Eco-friendly alternatives are biodegradable and result in safe water discharge.
Waste: Waste disposal is expensive. Bio-enzyme cleaners break down and consume organic matter, reducing the volume of waste naturally. Less waste volume puts less stress on downstream operations such as sewerage systems and waste collectors.
REUSE
Water: Water is a finite resource in growing demand, thus closing the loop on water use is vital. Processes can be introduced during the cleaning cycle which capture, treat and reuse water. Greywater and harvested rainwater may be treated with bio-enzymes to remove pathogens, odours, FOG (fat, oil, grease) and other organic material. Greywater can be reused for irrigation, laundry washing, vehicle washing and flushing of toilets.
RECYCLE
Cleaning supplies: Many cleaning supplies and tools can be recycled. Cleaning items that can be recycled include: plastic spray bottles, cleaning solution containers, paper towels, and microfiber cloths. Invest in durable equipment and tools which can be repurposed at their end-of-life.
